Together We Stand, Divided We Fall
I cannot stop asking forgiveness daily for the sins of our nation (along with many other intercessors - specifically regarding abortion), just as Daniel did while in exile in Babylon (Daniel 9).
On the eve of the 3rd reading of the extreme Abortion Legalisation Bill, if ever there was a time for unity, it is now. With over a million Christians in New Zealand, we have power in unity – if we use it. There is a united call to pray and fast from today to Tuesday or Monday to Wednesday from the churches in Northland, see flyer. Please join us.
Many of us have slumbered and we have slept while the sun shone (thank God for those who have been fighting this fight). Now it is the 11th hour and we have one last chance to thwart the evil agenda behind this bill to kill babies up to full term. The Bill also forbids painkillers for babies before they are murdered, and withholds care for babies who have suffered botched abortions. To call it monstrous, would be the understatement of the millennium.
Mother Theresa correctly noted, “A nation that kills it’s babies in the womb, has lost it’s soul.” The SPCA has successfully lobbied and achieved more humane laws for animals than we are seeing for the unborn child in Aotearoa today.
According to US group CitizenGO in its Facebook post today,
“While the outbreak of COVID-19 continues, abortion clinics around the world remain open, and representatives of the abortion industry and lawmakers are meeting in private to increase abortion access and funding. What the media is failing to mention is the 153,425 pre-born babies who will die each day as a result of an abortion. (Data provided by the World Health Organization).
I believe we will be held accountable by the Lord for what we did or didn’t do in this crucial hour as the Lord’s babies are sacrificed to Moloch on a whole new level. In 1867, John Stuart Mill said, “Bad men need nothing more to compass their ends, than that good men should look on and do nothing.”
Ray and I have emailed our local MP giving a clear message, that if they vote for the 3rd reading Abortion Legalisation Bill we cannot vote for them in the next election. Never before has it been so easy to email our politicians. Let’s pray
Father, I come to you in Jesus mighty name. You are the Lord of Lords and the King of Kings (Rev 19:16). You are the One True God (Isa 65:16). I ask You forgive us, Lord, for we have sinned greatly. We have turned from Your ways and broken Your precepts. We have rebelled against you and not obeyed your voice (Dan 9). We thank You for Your great love and mercy that You have blessed us as much as you have in our sin.
Father, we ask for the spirit of Godly sorrow to fall upon our ungodly leadership that they may turn and be healed (2 Cor 7:10). Improve them, Lord, or remove them, we ask in Jesus name. Help us, Lord, to fear Your name that the sun of righteousness will rise upon us with healing in His wings (Malachi 4:2). Help us, Lord to prepare the way of the Lord; make straight in the desert a highway for our God… we ask you send confusion into the camp of the enemy (<< this link is key).
We command every valley shall be exalted and every mountain and hill brought low; the crooked places shall be made straight and the rough places smooth; the glory of the Lord shall be revealed (Isa 40:3-5). Help us, Lord, to intercede and pray for our nation. Raise up Your remnant who will stand in the gap for Aotearoa until we see You bring Your righteous government to this land and shall yet again take root downward, and bear fruit upward (2 Kings 19:30).
If my people, which are called by Your name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek Your face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will You hear from heaven, and will forgive our sin, and will heal our land (2 Chron 7:14). God defend New Zealand, and save us from this Abortion Legalisation Bill going ahead, and ungodly leadership. Amen
