You were born for great things
You were born for great things. You can do exceedingly more than you can hope for, or imagine!
It costs to live your life to the fullest. There is a commitment required, and a daily persistence in work and faith. Don’t think it comes easy for anyone. Anyone who achieves, puts in the hard yards. To achieve great things in your life you will need to first start believing that you are born for great things. Believe in it wholeheartedly as there is so much potential in you, and you will be able to do exceedingly more than you can hope for, or imagine.
Don’t measure your greatness by other people’s standards or what others have done in their lives. Too often we do that, and in doing so we diminish our self-worth. Don’t worry about what others will think of your thoughts on greatness; sometimes it is wise to know who to share your dreams with.
If you are ridiculed for your dreams, don’t worry! Many great men and women in history were ridiculed for their big dreams.
As Theodore Roosevelt once said,
“It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly; who errs, who comes short again and again, because there is no effort without error and shortcoming; but who does actually strive to do the deeds; who knows great enthusiasms, the great devotions; who spends himself in a worthy cause; who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement, and who at the worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who neither know victory nor defeat.”
I grew up in India and emigrated to New Zealand when I was 21 years old. If I did not dream big, I would have never imagined and done all the things that I have gone on to do and achieve.
Writing this book is another accomplishment for me, and is something I have wanted to do for a long time. It took planning, dedication and hard work, but it all started with a thought, then faith and belief that I could do it. So what is the thought in your head today? Is it one of greatness?

Contemplation
High performers don’t just know they have high standards and want to excel; they check in several times throughout the day to see whether they are living up to those standards. It’s this selfmonitoring that helps them get ahead, by performing many reviews in their heads each day. Think about all your gifts and talents today, and how you can use them effectively to achieve the greatness you were born for. You may already be on the journey to greatness. What are some of the thoughts that are limiting you achieving all that you could ever hope for, or imagine?
“It costs to be faithful. It cost Abraham the surrender of his only son. It cost Queen Esther in history to risk her own life. It cost Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego being put into a fiery furnace while they were in exile in Babylon. It cost Stephen death by stoning. It cost the Apostle Paul his life. What are some of the costs you will have to pay to achieve greatness in your life?
Action
What is something you have not been putting more thought into, or putting off as you are not confident that you will achieve it? Go on, believe in yourself and get on with it!
If you are already on a journey to greatness, review your plans and see what needs changing to ensure that you get to your goals and start re working on those plans today. Things will more than likely take a while to materialise fully, so take moments every now and then to celebrate what you’ve achieved so far. Life can’t be all work and no play. It’s important to know what or who it is that recharges you and keeps you from burning out.
Outrageous Challenge
Who is someone in your life you can trust? Today determine to tell someone about your thoughts on some of the greatness in you.
You have been holding on to these thoughts and ideas for a while, so instead of keeping it a secret, go on and tell someone who is likely going to encourage you and help you on your journey to greatness. It takes courage to tell someone but that is your first step to achieving all that you were born to do.
