The Breath before the Trumpet Blows
Late November 2016, in the early hours as I slept, I had worship in my spirit and was still in a place of deep worship upon awakening for three mornings in a row. The third morning, as my spirit worshipped while I slept, I also had a dream.
In the dream, a group of God’s people were together in a paddock that is familiar to me. The people sat peacefully and naturally in groups amongst pockets of cows and horses in the pasture.
Suddenly, a powerful awareness came upon me that the Lord Jesus was coming – in fact, He was almost here. It was so strong, it took my breath away.
I rose to my feet and tried to shout, “Jesus is here, Jesus is here!”
I was weeping, and overcome by emotion. The words couldn’t find their way out. I saw the animals getting to their feet to welcome the Lord, even before the sleepy people became aware. I was disturbed that many people were unaware of the urgency of the hour, although I am aware there are still some things to come to pass before Jesus second coming. The Bible has this to say,
2 Thessalonians 2:1-4 (NKJV)
Now, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, not to be shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as though the day of Christ had come. Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.
Romans 8:22:
We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the first fruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption to sonship, the redemption of our bodies.
Our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed. For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God.
1 Thessalonians 4:16:
For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus, we shall always be with the Lord.
The Lord is preparing us now. It’s time to make room for the King.
